Saw the surgeon today and he was pleased with the hooks and noticed that they were now in correctly and wired in so that they can endure the impressions and surgery.
What a gooey mess that was.... Lots of impressions. The oral surgeon office was really great, they get a little stressed with the impressions as they do them all the time. The hooks don't like the casting material I had all kinds of material stuck in between the hooks and braces. The assistant was kind enough to help me pick it all off before I left.
The doctor took measurements of my face, took pictures, measured the distance between my eye and my nose. These measurements are used to put the impressions of my teeth in the model that they use to do the mock surgery.
They showed me the castings of another patient and described how the mock surgery measurements are taken to determine how much movement is needed to make my teeth touch... that will be great as only two teeth in the very back touch right now and there is a huge space in the front. I have to struggle with my lips to close my mouth.
I was given a book for recipes " how to eat from a straw without the straw" . Good book lots of ideas. Will need to start searching for soft foods.
